Position Summary

The Accounting Manager will serve as a key member of BNP’s global finance function, responsible for managing day-to-day accounting operations, running the execution of the monthly close process, and overseeing the accounting team across multiple entities and geographies.

This role reports to the Controller and partners closely to ensure accurate financial reporting, strong internal controls, and scalable accounting processes aligned with BNP’s continued growth.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Reporting & Close

  • Manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, ensuring timelines and deliverables are met
  • Review journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules
  • Partner with the Controller on consolidations and reporting packages
  • Identify and implement improvements to close efficiency and timelines
  • Maintain accurate books and records for all domestic and international entities, ensuring financial transactions are properly recorded and supported.

Accounting Operations

  • Oversee general ledger, AR, AP, payroll accounting, and project accounting coordination
  • Ensure accuracy and consistency of financial data, including cost tracking and revenue inputs
  • Maintain and optimize accounting workflows within Deltek Vantagepoint
  • Standardize accounting practices across domestic and international entities

Internal Controls & Compliance

  • Execute and maintain internal controls and accounting processes
  • Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and company policies
  • Support audit preparation and coordinate with auditors as directed by the Controller
  • Assist with tax-related requirements in coordination with external advisors
  • Partner with acquired entities and external advisors to ensure revenue, expenses, and balance sheet schedules are maintained in accordance with U.S. GAAP
  • Support the development, documentation, and continuous improvement of internal controls and accounting processes to enhance audit readiness and reporting accuracy

Revenue Recognition & Project Accounting

  • Ensure consistent application of WIP, revenue recognition (ASC 606), and project financial reporting
  • Serve as an escalation point for project accounting matters
  • Partner with project teams to support alignment between financials and project performance
  • Maintain percentage-of-completion (POC) schedules and support the accurate application of ASC 606 revenue recognition requirements
  • Partner with the Controller and CFO to investigate revenue recognition variances, project financial performance, and related accounting matters
  • Track and maintain project retainage balances, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and external accounting guidance

Process Improvement & Scaling

  • Identify and implement improvements to accounting processes and workflows
  • Drive standardization across entities to support scalability
  • Support integration of newly acquired entities, including systems, reporting, accounting processes, data validation, and reporting alignment? Partner with the Controller and CFO to automate accounting processes, journal entries, and reporting activities within Deltek to improve efficiency and accuracy.

Team Leadership

  • Manage and develop accounting staff, including Project Accountants and Bookkeepers/Accounting Clerks
  • Review team output for accuracy, completeness, and consistency
  • Provide training, coaching, and performance feedback
  • Support hiring and onboarding as the team scales

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 5–10 years of progressive accounting experience
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting
  • Experience managing or leading components of the close process
  • ERP experience (Deltek Vantagepoint preferred)

Preferred

  • Experience in a project-based or engineering consulting environment
  • Experience in multi-entity or international organizations
  • Experience in a high-growth or acquisition-driven environment

Salary Range: $110k - $125k
