Job Summary:

The Functional Test Operator performs standardized functional testing of electronic units to verify performance and identify failures. This role disassembles and reassembles units as needed, connects units to multiple diagnostic test systems, records test results, and sorts units based on testing outcomes in accordance with established procedures.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Disassemble units as required to perform functional testing.
  • Connect units to multiple diagnostic testing systems and run standard test procedures.
  • Identify and record failure types based on test results and defined criteria.
  • Reassemble units after testing and perform retesting to confirm results.
  • Sort units according to test outcomes, including pass, rework, or scrap.
  • Accurately document test results and unit status in tracking systems.
  • Use hand tools safely during disassembly and reassembly.
  • Follow established testing, quality, and safety procedures at all times.
  • Maintain a clean and organized testing area.
  • Perform other duties as requested or assigned.

Education:

  • High school diploma/GED or equivalent.

Experience:

  • Previous assembly and testing experience preferred but not required.

Physical Demands & Working Conditions:

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and reach during scheduled shifts.
  • Ability to lift, carry, or move units or equipment, typically up to 25 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Ability to perform repetitive hand movements and fine motor tasks such as plugging in units, disassembly, and reassembly.
  • Ability to visually inspect units and read test screens or basic documentation.
  • Work performed in a manufacturing or test environment with moderate noise levels.
  • Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
