Content Lawyer, Public M&A

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Content Lawyer, Public M&A based in Canada.

The Content Lawyer, Public M&A will leverage deep legal expertise to create practical resources that support professionals in navigating complex capital markets and M&A matters.
This role combines legal knowledge, writing excellence, and innovation to develop high-quality content for a professional audience.
You will transform complex legal concepts into clear, practical guidance, helping legal practitioners improve efficiency and decision-making.

Accountabilities:

The Content Lawyer, Public M&A will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and improving practical legal content while supporting broader product and content strategies for legal professionals.

  • Write, review, edit, and maintain practice notes, checklists, flowcharts, precedents, and other legal resources related to capital markets, securities, and public M&A.
  • Ensure all content remains accurate, current, relevant, and aligned with evolving legal practices and industry standards.
  • Monitor legal developments, market trends, and changes affecting capital markets, securities, and public M&A practices.
  • Contribute to content strategy by identifying opportunities to improve resources, workflows, and user value.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to execute content development initiatives and deliver high-quality materials within deadlines.
  • Build and maintain relationships with legal practitioners, law firms, and subject matter experts across Canada.
  • Evaluate market trends and competitive offerings to support continuous improvement of legal products.
  • Support customer engagement initiatives through product demonstrations, training sessions, and presentations.
  • Apply legal expertise and professional judgment to enhance the quality and usability of digital legal resources.
Requirements:

The ideal candidate is a qualified legal professional with strong expertise in capital markets, securities, and public M&A, combined with excellent writing and communication abilities.

  • J.D. or LL.B. degree and active membership in good standing with at least one Canadian provincial or territorial bar.
  • 3+ years of professional experience practicing in capital markets, securities, and/or public M&A law.
  • Strong understanding of legal workflows, transactions, and practical issues affecting professionals in these areas.
  • Established professional network within the capital markets, securities, and/or public M&A legal community is an asset.
  • Excellent legal writing and editing skills, with the ability to communicate complex concepts clearly and concisely.
  • Experience drafting or editing client materials, legal publications, continuing legal education content, or similar professional resources.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to engage legal audiences effectively.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities independently.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and digital collaboration tools.
  • Experience using AI and large language model (LLM) tools in professional workflows, including reviewing, validating, and improving AI-generated outputs.
  • Ability to adapt to evolving legal technology and content development practices.
  • Fluency in French is considered an asset.
