Structural Steel Quality Control Inspector in Richmond, Virginia at Qualdoc, LLC

Location: Richmond, VA
Job Type: Contract-to-Hire
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 1st Shift
Starting Pay: $31/hour (Higher pay available based on experience)
Overtime: Saturdays as needed

We are hiring a Quality Control Inspector with structural steel fabrication experience to support quality checks throughout the production process. Experienced senior-level structural steel fitters or fabricators with strong inspection skills may also be considered.

• Inspect fabricated structural steel components throughout production.
• Verify materials, dimensions, layouts, and part placement against shop drawings and specifications.
• Conduct in-process and final quality inspections.
• Identify and document nonconforming work in accordance with AWS D1.1/D1.5 requirements.
• Work with production teams to investigate and correct quality issues.
• Support ongoing quality improvement efforts.
• Participate in annual AISC QC audits.

• 3–5 years of experience in structural steel layout and fabrication.
• Ability to read and interpret fabrication and construction drawings.
• Strong knowledge of structural steel fabrication and quality standards.
• Welding certification in D1.1 and/or D1.5 preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work effectively with production teams.
