Investigator Payments Lead Associate - FSP

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for an Investigator Payments Lead – Associate - FSP based in India.

This role is an opportunity to support critical clinical development programs by ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant payments to clinical trial sites and investigators.
The position plays a key role in managing payment operations throughout the full clinical trial lifecycle, from study start-up through closeout.
You will oversee complex payment processes, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and help maintain strong relationships with clinical sites.
The role requires a balance of operational expertise, financial accuracy, and strong project management capabilities.
Working in a global and collaborative environment, you will contribute to improving efficiency and reliability across clinical trial payment activities.

Accountabilities:

The role is responsible for managing investigator payment operations, ensuring compliance with contractual requirements, payment processes, and operational standards. The successful candidate will coordinate with internal teams, vendors, and clinical sites to resolve issues and maintain efficient payment execution.

  • Manage the complete lifecycle of clinical site payment administration, including payment schedules, subject costs, payment triggers, database setup, start-up payments, and ongoing visit-based payments.
  • Plan and coordinate payment activities to ensure critical study milestones and site payments are delivered on time.
  • Review EDC design and data collection processes to ensure accurate payment mapping and troubleshoot payment-related issues.
  • Provide guidance on site contracts and budgets to ensure alignment with contractual terms and payment requirements.
  • Oversee external vendors and ensure adherence to payment processes, approval timelines, and quality standards.
  • Investigate and resolve complex payment issues involving contracts, budgets, regulatory requirements, currencies, taxes, and technology systems.
  • Monitor study payment performance, identify root causes of delays, and implement corrective actions.
  • Ensure purchase orders, funding approvals, contracts, and work orders are properly maintained to support uninterrupted payment processing.
  • Support audit activities related to investigator payments when required.
  • Manage escalations from clinical sites and study teams while maintaining strong stakeholder relationships.
  • Collaborate with clinical operations, finance, legal, tax, technology, and other business functions to deliver successful payment outcomes.
Requirements:

The ideal candidate will bring experience in clinical operations, financial administration, or payment management, with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a global environment.

  • Experience in clinical contracts, budget administration, accounting, finance, or clinical project operations is preferred.
  • Knowledge of clinical trial processes, protocols, investigator site budgets, and payment structures.
  • Understanding of clinical site payment terms and regional payment considerations.
  • Experience working with clinical trial systems, EDC platforms, or payment processing tools is an advantage.
  • Ability to analyze complex operational issues and provide practical solutions.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across international teams and cultures.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams including clinical operations, finance, legal, technology, and vendors.
  • Ability to work independently, take ownership of deliverables, and make sound recommendations.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and administrative skills.
  • Experience within a clinical research organization, pharmaceutical company, or related healthcare environment is preferred.
  • Knowledge of local tax regulations, payment compliance requirements, and cross-border financial transactions is a plus.
