Job Description

Position Summary

Develops, implements, evaluates and revises a plan of care of assigned patients and families while promoting the mission and values of CORALVITA Healthcare. The provision of care includes direct care along with the delegation and supervision of all nursing care in accordance with the applicable Nurse Practice Act. Works in a charge nurse capacity as assigned based on patient and hospital need. Specific components of the Registered Nurse role include demonstrating clinical competence; managing patient care; improving quality of care; establishing professional relationships and utilizing professional skills; fulfilling responsibilities of the role of the hospital; and developing clinical expertise per specialty.

Position Supervisory Responsibilities

Supervises the following positions: Licensed Practical/Vocational Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, Nursing Aides and Techs.

Position Qualifications Minimum Qualifications:

Current, valid, and active license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of employment required.

Current BLS certification from a CORALVITA-approved vendor required.

Current ACLS certification from a CORALVITA-approved vendor required within six (6) months of hire.

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS:

Previous acute care experience is strongly preferred. Ability to project a professional image.

Knowledge of regulatory standards and compliance requirements. Strong organizational, prioritizing and analytical skills.

Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant.

Working knowledge of computer and software applications used in job functions. Freedom from illegal use of and effects of use of drugs and alcohol in the workplace

Certificates, Licensures, Registrations

Current, valid, and active license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of employment required. Current BLS certification from a CORALVITA-approved vendor required. ACLS certification from a CORALVITA-approved vendor required within six (6) months of hire.

Regular and punctual attendance.

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instruction furnished in written, oral and/or diagram form. Ability to define and solve problems and collect data.

Develop, document, and implement individualized care plans for assigned patients, utilizing resources of interdisciplinary team and family when appropriate, and considering developmental life stage of patient. Accurately and consistently utilize the existing plan of care.

Apply all elements of effective medication administration including patient identification, medication confirmation, vital signs and/or lab values, time frames, IV rates and sites, and all policy and procedure guidelines.

Actively ensure medical treatment regimen is completed, supplies are ordered, and physician orders are transcribed, and results and actions are shared with the unit team. Participate in patient rounds and assist physician as necessary.

10%

Adequately perform and document wound care, understand and deliver respiratory care as appropriate, observe patient daily for skin integrity and lesions. Adhere to the implementation, compliance, and monitoring of the Infection Control Program following all policies, procedures and safety regulations.

Responsible for coordinating the delivery of nursing care through the utilization of the nursing process of assessment, planning, intervention and evaluation of the individual patient. The provision of care includes direct care along with the delegation and supervision of all nursing care in accordance with the applicable Nurse Practice Act. Responsible for coordinating nursing unit activities related to patient care during

assigned Charge shifts.

Remain current with literature related to departments for which responsible and maintain an updated methodology, tools, manuals and criteria as necessary and appropriate.
