Job Description
Under the direction of the Shift Manager, Surveillance, this position is responsible for monitoring of all areas of the casino property and maintaining documentation. You will be working together with a team and will be required to write and generate reports. Assists with the implementation all new surveillance operations initiatives.
Key Accountabilities
- Monitoring, documenting and reporting violations regarding large cash/cash equivalent transactions, exclude and self-excluded guests and unauthorized access
- Maintaining logs, recording daily reports; storing records for evidence purposes
- Monitoring and documenting and reporting on the condition of surveillance facilities and equipment
- Performing preventive maintenance on equipment
- Performs other duties as assigned or directed
The successful candidate will demonstrate the following qualifications
- Computer proficiency
- Gaming knowledge an asset, including awareness of legislated regulatory requirements re licensing, anti-money laundering, etc.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain strict confidentiality and adhere to all procedures to maintain integrity and respect the privacy of clients, colleagues, regulators, and other visitors.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including adhering to reporting standards
- Keen eye for detail and meticulous, with the ability to focus on monitors for long periods of time
- Possess a high level of honesty and integrity
- Adherence to high standards, methods and procedures
- Background experience in Criminology an asset
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Ability to exceed internal and external customer expectations through timely, effective and service oriented communication
- A commitment to continually increase your knowledge of our products and services in order to offer exceptional experiences to our guests
- A willingness to learn, develop and achieve new skills for personal and professional development
- Candidates must be ready and willing to work a flexible schedule, including graveyards, weekends and holidays. The hours of work will be based on operational and business needs.
Education and Requirements
- Post Secondary education in criminology or suitable combination of education and experience an asset
- Required to acquire and maintain a Gaming Worker registration through IGCO
- Responsible beverage service certification (BC- Serving It Right) where required
- Ability to exceed internal and external customer expectations through timely, effective and service oriented communication
- Computer literacy in MS Office
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a surveillance or security field an asset; gaming industry experience preferred
Work Environment Considerations
- Secure back-office environment, sitting for long periods of time, watching footage for long periods of time, non-traditional work hours
- This role requires a flexible schedule that adapts to the business needs of a busy operation; will have non-traditional work hours including evening, overnight, and weekend shifts.
