Position Title and Salary: Court Services Officer I, Grade 36 $ 29.06 hourly
Location of Employment: 27th Judicial District, Reno County
Kansas Judicial Branch Benefits State Employment Center - Benefits (ks.gov)
JOB DUTIES:
This position is responsible for all aspects of supervision of juveniles who are under the jurisdiction of the District Court. Duties include but not limited to the following: maintain records of client contacts, become certified and administer risk/needs assessments, and make appropriate referrals to resources. The chosen candidate will be required to submit reports to the court and may be asked to appear in court to make recommendations and/or testify to assigned cases.
REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree in a social service field along with computer skills are required. Minimum of one year experience in the field of criminal justice is preferred, with preference given to experience relating directly to probation and/or pretrial. Knowledge of evidence-based practices is preferred.
DESIRED ABILITIES:
This position requires attention to detail and strong organizational and time management skills. Ability to work both independently and with a team is essential. Must demonstrate good verbal and written communication skills. The desired candidate will have experience in caseload management and a working knowledge of the criminal justice field.
