The Head of Expansion will lead market entry initiatives from research and prioritization through launch execution, ensuring new regions are operationally ready and positioned for sustainable growth. This role requires a hands-on approach, combining strategic thinking with detailed execution across multiple business functions.
- Own expansion initiatives from initial market evaluation through operational launch, transforming opportunities into scalable market entries.
- Identify and prioritize new markets based on customer demand, market size, regulatory requirements, operational complexity, and business potential.
- Analyze market-entry barriers and develop actionable plans to overcome legal, clinical, operational, and supply challenges.
- Determine the most effective expansion approach, including internal development, strategic partnerships, or acquisition opportunities.
- Establish the legal, regulatory, clinical, and operational foundations required to support market launches.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams across operations, product, legal, clinical, supply chain, and growth functions to ensure launch readiness.
- Build relationships with external partners, service providers, and stakeholders required to accelerate expansion.
- Develop repeatable expansion frameworks, processes, and playbooks to reduce launch timelines and improve operational efficiency.
- Manage multiple market initiatives simultaneously while maintaining strong execution discipline and attention to detail.
- Apply data-driven decision-making and AI-powered tools to improve research, analysis, planning, and operational execution.
The ideal candidate is a highly autonomous operator with experience leading complex expansion initiatives, launching businesses in new markets, and managing cross-functional projects in fast-growing environments.
- 5+ years of experience in expansion, business operations, market launches, general management, or a similar high-ownership leadership role.
- Proven experience personally leading market launches from concept through operational execution.
- Strong understanding of European or international expansion processes, including regulatory, operational, and partnership considerations.
- Experience evaluating market opportunities and determining whether to build, partner, or acquire capabilities.
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects involving legal, clinical, operational, and commercial stakeholders.
- Strong judgment and problem-solving skills with the ability to make decisions in ambiguous and rapidly changing environments.
- Ability to quickly understand unfamiliar markets, identify critical challenges, and develop practical solutions.
- Excellent project management skills with the ability to manage multiple initiatives, timelines, and stakeholders simultaneously.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with strong ownership, accountability, and willingness to take initiative without waiting for direction.
- Experience building scalable systems, processes, and operational frameworks.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills with the ability to influence internal and external stakeholders.

- Competitive compensation package of $200,000–$400,000 per year.
