Quality Assurance Analyst

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Quality Assurance Analyst based in the United States.

This role offers the opportunity to ensure the reliability, usability, and performance of software solutions that support critical operations and end users.
You will design and execute comprehensive testing strategies across new features, integrations, and product releases.
Working closely with developers, product teams, and stakeholders, you will identify issues, improve processes, and help deliver high-quality software experiences.
The position combines technical analysis, problem-solving, and customer-focused thinking within a collaborative remote environment.
You will contribute to evolving QA practices while leveraging modern tools, including AI-assisted solutions, to improve efficiency and documentation quality.

Accountabilities:

The Quality Assurance Analyst will be responsible for validating software quality, improving testing processes, and ensuring products meet both technical standards and customer expectations. The role requires close collaboration across teams to identify risks, resolve issues, and support successful releases.

  • Create, maintain, and execute test plans, test cases, and test scripts for new features, bug fixes, integrations, customer scenarios, and release validation.
  • Perform functional, exploratory, regression, and developer work item testing to ensure software reliability.
  • Document, investigate, reproduce, track, and validate defects, enhancement requests, and customer-reported issues.
  • Collaborate with developers, product owners, support teams, and other stakeholders to resolve technical challenges.
  • Communicate product updates through release notes, feature demonstrations, and clear documentation for internal and external audiences.
  • Use approved AI-assisted tools to support test planning, defect analysis, documentation, and release preparation.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives focused on QA processes, testing standards, documentation, and release readiness.
  • Balance product quality, customer impact, release timelines, and team priorities when making testing recommendations.
Requirements:

The ideal candidate combines software testing expertise, strong communication skills, and the ability to work independently in a remote, cross-functional environment. Experience with technical tools, databases, and Agile development practices is highly valued.

  • Experience testing software applications, creating and executing test cases, validating expected outcomes, and documenting defects clearly.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to prepare defect reports, release notes, and customer-facing documentation.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with developers, support teams, product stakeholders, and other cross-functional partners.
  • Strong knowledge of PC and LAN environments, including Windows Server and Windows operating systems.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and software tools used for documentation, analysis, reporting, and presentations.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, manage deadlines, and work independently within a remote team structure.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Criminal Justice, or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience with SQL, relational databases, client/server applications, web applications, and mobile platforms such as iOS and Android is preferred.
  • Familiarity with Agile software development environments, Jira, issue tracking tools, test management platforms, source control concepts, API testing, integration testing, or automation testing is a plus.
  • Experience with public safety, law enforcement, records management, CAD, mobile computing, or mission-critical software environments is beneficial.
  • Strong curiosity, analytical thinking, customer empathy, and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate technical findings into actionable recommendations.
  • Openness to learning and responsibly applying AI-assisted tools to improve productivity and testing outcomes.
