This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Medical Records & Billing Administrator based in United States.

This remote position offers the opportunity to support healthcare operations within a mission-driven organization focused on improving access to quality care.
The role plays a key part in ensuring accurate medical record processing, billing operations, and compliance with healthcare requirements.
You will manage critical administrative workflows that support revenue operations, payer relationships, and audit readiness.

Accountabilities:

The Medical Records & Billing Administrator will support daily healthcare administration processes by ensuring accurate documentation, timely responses, and efficient billing workflows. This role requires strong attention to detail, confidentiality awareness, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a remote environment.

  • Process medical records requests accurately and within required turnaround timelines.
  • Manage incoming payer communications, including sorting, routing, and responding to time-sensitive requests.
  • Support billing operations by processing refunds, payer reconsiderations, and manual claim-related activities.
  • Assist with audit preparation by retrieving documentation and maintaining organized records.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to improve medical records and billing workflows.
  • Identify recurring issues, inefficiencies, and opportunities to optimize operational processes.
  • Provide additional support across billing functions as business needs evolve.
Requirements:

The ideal candidate brings healthcare administrative experience, strong organizational skills, and the ability to handle confidential information with accuracy and professionalism. Experience with medical records, billing processes, or payer workflows is preferred.

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or certification in medical records, billing, coding, or a related field is a plus.
  • 1–2+ years of experience in medical records, healthcare billing, revenue operations, or a related administrative healthcare role preferred.
  • Familiarity with payer processes, medical billing terminology, and claims workflows, including 837 claims, is beneficial.
  • Understanding of HIPAA compliance standards and patient information confidentiality requirements.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage high-volume, deadline-driven tasks independently.
  • Comfortable working remotely with minimal day-to-day supervision.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to identify problems, suggest improvements, and adapt to changing priorities.
