Job Description

Valtir is currently looking to hire a Production Supervisor - Galvanizing for our plant in Fort Worth, TX.

Our products are specified, sold, and installed throughout North America and in more than 100 international markets.

As a Production Supervisor, you’ll be responsible for ensuring that the team’s daily work assignments are completed accurately, on time and in a safe manner. You will be expected to lead by example, be proactive in identifying and solving problems, and act with the utmost levels of integrity and safety.

Job Duties Include, but not limited to:

  • Operate equipment and tools to aid in manufacturing highway safety products.
  • Maintain efficient production in the department by training, instructing and directing team members
  • Must meet all required expectation of Safety, Quality and Production.
  • Monitor and adapt processes and schedules to accomplish manufacturing goals.
  • Complete all required paperwork and inspections.
  • Understand the galvanizing process and uses knowledge to achieve optimal operating efficiency.
  • Ensure all equipment & tanks are operating properly at all times (acid levels, temperatures, etc.
  • Supervise a small group of 1st & 2nd Shift employees
  • Understand product codes and quality requirements for each product.
  • Work as necessary including occasional weekends to ensure proper scheduling support
  • Other duties as assigned

Working Environment:

  • Work in a manufacturing environment that is not climate controlled.
  • The job is a fast paced, heavy industrial environment and you may be required to work within various areas of the plant.
  • Safety is our highest priority and safety procedures / guidelines must be adhered to at all times. This includes safety wear such as hearing and eye protection, protective clothing and steel-toed shoes.
  • Attendance and showing up to work on time are important to the success of the plant. Dependable job attendance is expected.

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of successful operational and supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Must be able to identify and solve complex problems using advance technical knowledge and creativity.
  • Knowledge of quality policies/procedures
  • Ability to perform all essential functions safely and efficiently including operating forklifts, cranes and hand tools.
  • Ability to function as a team member and establish and maintain effective working relationships
  • Ability to work independently; strong teamwork and organizational skills with the ability to multi-task.
  • Demonstrated effective leadership, motivational, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Proficient computer skills and experience using Microsoft Office.
  • Galvanizing experience strongly preferred.
