In this role, you will be responsible for developing and executing business development strategies that accelerate revenue growth and strengthen customer relationships within the assigned territory. You will collaborate with scientific and commercial teams to identify opportunities, understand client needs, and deliver tailored solutions that support research initiatives.
- Develop and execute monthly, quarterly, and annual territory plans to achieve revenue targets and quota goals.
- Prospect and engage with new biopharma, biotech, and research customers to generate new business opportunities.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients by understanding their scientific objectives and identifying how solutions can support their programs.
- Manage a qualified sales pipeline, maintaining accurate CRM records, customer information, and activity updates.
- Conduct customer meetings, networking activities, conferences, trade shows, and industry events to expand market presence.
- Partner with scientific experts, project teams, and internal stakeholders to develop proposals and successfully close opportunities.
- Provide consultative guidance by leveraging deep product knowledge to recommend solutions aligned with customer requirements.
- Monitor market trends and competitive activity to identify opportunities and differentiate offerings.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure successful customer onboarding, project execution, and long-term satisfaction.
The ideal candidate is an experienced life sciences sales professional with a strong commercial mindset, scientific understanding, and proven ability to build relationships with biopharma and biotechnology organizations.
- Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD degree in life sciences or a related scientific field preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of field-based sales experience within life sciences, CDMO, biotechnology, or biopharma environments.
- Proven experience selling human biospecimens, cell therapy, gene therapy, or related scientific products is required.
- Demonstrated success achieving sales quotas and driving revenue growth.
- Strong ability to identify customer needs, translate challenges into opportunities, and provide consultative solutions.
- Excellent relationship-building and communication skills with customers, executives, and internal stakeholders.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and complex sales cycles.
- Ability to work independently while contributing to broader commercial team objectives.
- Experience with CRM platforms such as Salesforce is preferred.
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, Google Workspace, and sales reporting systems.
- Must be located in or near the greater Boston, MA area and willing to travel up to 50% domestically.
- Competitive compensation package with an anticipated total range of $200,000–$240,000 including base salary and commission at target achievement.
