Job Description
Summary/Objective
The role is responsible for the overall employee health and safety, including safety programs, systems, policies, training, risk management, and audits. The position is a visionary leader and will be responsible for aligning strategic objectives and developing and implementing Health, Safety, policies while complying with OSHA standards.
Essential Functions

• Identify, communicate and achieve proactive and reactive Safety Targets, objectives and results via:
o Identification, evaluation and analysis of risks and hazards by collaborating with employees on the shopfloor; execute corrective actions utilizing the Hierarchy of Controls including training, and documentation
o Facilitate, enforce, and audit compliance with all safety rules and regulations taking prompt action concerning any potential safety hazards
o Execute accident, incident, and near miss investigations, root cause analysis, and implement appropriate safety action plan
• Drive the Implementation and execution of proactive safety programs (i.e. Dupont Stop, Learning Management System, ISN, etc.)
• Assist with the development and delivery of all safety-related training
• Use data analysis to identify and prioritize safety-related focus areas
Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand and walk.

May be exposed to hot, wet, or cool conditions
Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk, hear, and use fingers to type. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling and climbing throughout the day. The employee must occasionally lift or move items up to or over 40 pounds.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Occasional evening and weekend hours will be required as job duties demand.
Travel
Occasional domestic travel is required for this position approximately 10% of the time to other company locations. Some international travel may be required for training and conferences.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in safety, environmental health, engineering, or related discipline or relevant work experience
- Strong knowledge of safety regulations, OSHA requirements and safety training methods
- Advanced knowledge in safety or continuous improvement principles, root cause analysis preferred
- Must have excellent facilitation skills, project management skills, and drive for results
- Superior problem solving skills for long term resolutions
- Solid analytic skills
- Strategic, collaborative spirit and passion for the toughest challenges
- Strong leadership skills including visionary and courageous leadership
- Experience in a food manufacturing environment (preferred)
- Implementation experience with state air permits, storm water permits, and waste management systems (preferred)
- Bi-lingual preferred (English/Spanish or English/French)
