About Anvil:
What You'll Do
Structural Design Develop calculations and specifications for feasibility studies, permits, and construction packages. Design steel and concrete structures, foundations, and retaining walls while ensuring code compliance.
Project Collaboration Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams on industrial and petrochemical projects. Analyze survey data and geotechnical information for project planning and design development.
Field Experience Conduct periodic field visits to monitor construction progress and ensure design conformance. Perform integrity evaluations of existing industrial structures and equipment supports.
What You Bring
Must-Have Qualifications
- Education: BS in Civil Engineering
- License: EIT license required
- Experience: 1-5 years in structural engineering
- Technical Skills: Steel and concrete structures, foundations, retaining walls, seismic design
- Software: Microsoft Excel, Word, RISA3D
- Codes: Working knowledge of IBC, ASCE 7, AISC, and ACI
- Ability: Obtain TWIC card
Preferred Qualifications
- Petrochemical/heavy industrial industry background
- Wood and masonry design experience
- Blast resistant design and Arctic engineering experience
- Vibration control foundation design
- Grading, paving, hydrology, or wastewater experience

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Able to sit/stand, type, and perform computer work for long periods of time.
- Frequent use of hands/fingers for computer entry and answering calls.
- Able to perform occasional bending, lifting, and reaching.
- Must be able to lift 15 lbs if necessary.
- Visual acuity sufficient for reading documents, computer screens, and technical materials.
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally in-person, by phone, and via video conferencing.
- Hearing ability adequate for meetings, presentations, and collaboration.
- Ability to concentrate and maintain attention for extended periods while managing multiple priorities.
- Ability to work irregular hours including evenings and weekends as business needs require.
- Able to travel to job sites (local and/or remote) as project needs require.
- Able to work in heavy industrial environments while wearing required PPE (hard hat, safety glasses, steel-toed boots, fire-retardant clothing, gloves, etc.).
- Able to climb ladders, stairs, and work on elevated surfaces.
- Able to walk on uneven terrain and surfaces.
- May be exposed to outdoor weather conditions and industrial environments during site visits.
