Responsibilities

The Director, Provider Compensation works closely with the NMG Operations team to develop physician and advanced practitioner clinician (provider) compensation programs. This role ensures compensation models are developed and administered in compliance with all applicable company policies and government regulations. The Director, Provider Compensation proactively assesses the healthcare industry to aid in aligning provider compensation, including incentive plans, to the constantly evolving healthcare environment. This role serves as a resource to leadership in reviewing all aspects of provider compensation throughout the organization. This role will have the opportunity to be a part of a niche specialty area that is growing in the marketplace. The Director, Provider Compensation works closely with the System Director, Provider Compensation on specific tasks including financial modeling of physician compensation, documenting for compliance management purposes, partnering with the legal and compliance department to develop effective communication, and collaboration and working relationships. This role interacts with members of the contracts team as well as other internal/external departments as needed for compensation research or regular data sharing. The Director, Provider Compensation performs a variety of project-oriented tasks to support the development and implementation of initiatives and compliance with Stark, Anti-Kickback and FMV regulations.

Key Accountabilities:
  • Prepares financial modeling of physician compensation for internal/external fair market reviews, including benchmarking analysis to assist with preparation of new physician employment agreements, renewal of physician employment agreements, and professional services agreements; which includes compilation of all supporting fair market review documentation for the Legal/Compliance Department.
  • Leads the development of policies and procedures that maintain compliance with all regulatory guidelines pertaining to provider compensation, including, but not limited to, fair market value, commercial reasonableness Stark, and Anti-Kickback regulations.
  • Provides perspective and recommendations for the development and implementation of market-competitive provider compensation offer terms and methodologies that are aligned with the strategic plan and financial objectives of the organization.
  • Supports colleagues regarding matters of provider compensation and contracts. Performs other physician analytic duties as assigned.
  • Serves as a subject matter expert to the operation, leadership, and legal teams on provider compensation and ensures that decisions are aligned with the organization's compensation philosophy.

Qualifications

Required:
  • Five years of experience in provider compensation, accounting, or finance
  • Bachelor Degree

Desired:
  • Master Degree
