Job Description

Description:

About Us

We’re a self-storage company that believes in hiring capable, no-nonsense people who take pride in their work. We value clear communication, strong customer service, accountability, and people who can solve problems without needing constant hand-holding.

No endless meetings that could’ve been emails. No micromanaging every tiny detail. Just a team of hardworking people who get things done and support each other when needed.

Even though we have locations across the country, we work together like one highly effective team with a good sense of humor and a strong work ethic. We trust our people to do their jobs professionally, take ownership of their work, and treat customers well.

About You

Do you take initiative instead of waiting around to be told every little thing? Are you organized, dependable, and good with people? Can you juggle customer service, property operations, and the occasional curveball without letting things fall through the cracks?

We’re looking for a Part-Time Assistant Property Manager to help keep our storage facility running smoothly, including traditional storage, premium vehicle storage, and valet services. You’ll support daily operations, help customers have a great experience, keep the property organized and looking its best, and jump in wherever needed.

This is a hands-on role for someone who notices what needs to be done and does it. You should be comfortable talking with customers, solving problems, staying organized, and working independently without needing someone looking over your shoulder all day.

If you like staying busy, taking ownership, helping people, and being part of a team that trusts you to do your job well, we’d love to talk.

Requirements:

Daily Operations & Accountability

  • Take ownership of your work and help keep day-to-day property operations running smoothly
  • Assist customers with rentals, transfers, payments, and account questions accurately and professionally
  • Maintain accurate customer, unit, and vehicle records in the property management system
  • Handle responsibilities independently, follow through on what needs to be done, and jump in where needed
  • Support the Site Manager with overall property operations and daily priorities

Customer Interaction & Communication

  • Greet customers and answer calls and emails professionally while making sure customers feel welcomed and informed
  • Provide property tours and help customers find the right storage or vehicle storage solution
  • Clearly explain available options, pricing, and lease terms without sounding scripted or pushy
  • Resolve routine customer concerns using professionalism, patience, and common sense, and know when something needs to be escalated
  • Process payments accurately and maintain appropriate transaction records
  • Communicate clearly with customers, coworkers, vendors, and management

Vehicle & Valet Operations

  • Help coordinate vehicle arrivals, departures, parking locations, and storage assignments
  • Safely drive, park, and reposition customer vehicles while following facility safety procedures
  • Keep accurate, real-time records of vehicle movements and storage locations
  • Treat every customer vehicle with the same care and attention you would expect someone to give your own
  • Stay organized and communicate clearly so vehicles are where they are supposed to be when customers need them

Property Maintenance, Safety & Upkeep

  • Walk and inspect the property daily, including storage units, vehicle storage areas, and grounds
  • Help keep the facility clean, safe, organized, and looking its best
  • Identify and report maintenance, safety, or security concerns promptly
  • Perform light maintenance and property upkeep, including sweeping, cleaning units, changing light bulbs, debris removal, mowing, and trimming
  • Open and close storage unit doors, operate gates and locks, and assist with general property needs
  • Help maintain a property appearance customers feel good about when they arrive

What Makes Someone Successful in This Role

  • Positive attitude and strong work ethic
  • Comfortable working independently and managing competing priorities
  • Reliable, organized, proactive, and detail-oriented
  • Good with people without sounding scripted or pushy
  • Comfortable driving and handling customer vehicles responsibly
  • Able to stay calm, flexible, and solution-oriented when something unexpected comes up
  • Notices what needs attention and takes action instead of waiting to be told every little thing

How We Measure Success

  • Accurate customer, rental, and vehicle records
  • Safe and accurate handling and tracking of customer vehicles
  • Strong customer service and positive customer experiences
  • Timely completion of daily property inspections and responsibilities
  • Effective property tours and rental conversations
  • Consistent compliance with vehicle handling and safety procedures
  • Clean, organized, and well-maintained storage and vehicle areas

What We’re Looking For

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently, stay organized, and follow through
  • Basic computer and administrative skills
  • Customer service, sales, retail, hospitality, valet, automotive, or property management experience is a plus, but not required

  • Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record required
  • Must be comfortable safely operating and parking customer vehicles
