Job Description
Description:
Norman Love Confections is looking for a Receiving and Inventory Specialist to join our team in Fort Myers, FL. This is a full-time position with benefits; the position does require a few 5am early morning shifts twice per week. Starting wage at $20 per hour depending on experience.
The Receiving and Inventory Specialist is directly responsible for physically receiving and warehousing goods and supplies. The position will fulfill requisitions for goods and supplies and update our inventory management system to reflect the overall flow of inventory.
Essential Duties Include But Are Not Limited To:
- Responsible for receiving inbound shipments of trucks and cargo crates.
- Ensure quality of the delivery received, checking for potential damage or expired product.
- Manage the process of potentially refusing shipments due to failed quality inspection and arrange for any necessary returns to vendors.
- Reconcile received items to packing slips and invoices to ensure accuracy of delivery.
- Unload pallets or boxes of product from inbound shipments, at times utilizing pallet jack or forklift.
- Unbox and stock product in proper locations, following FIFO stocking method.
- Remove and dispose of packing material from incoming shipments.
- Responsible for ensuring proper rotation of stored products and minimizing waste caused to expiration.
- Maintain a clean and organized storage space, ensuring all products are stored appropriately and are readily available for timely transferring between departments.
- Physically transfer products from the ingredient storage to the production kitchens or outbound warehouse.
- Record all received deliveries into the inventory management system as well as the company receiving log.
- Responsible for regularly reconciling physical inventory in the warehouse to the inventory management system with a focus on reducing manual adjustments.
The following are essential functions of the job and must be met in order to safely complete the tasks associated with this position.
- The ability to communicate in English (written and verbal)
- The ability to stand for up to eight hours per day
- The ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- The ability to bend, lift, push, pull and climb
- The ability to operate a manual pallet jack as well as a motorized forklift
