The Florida State Fair Authority is looking for a Marketing Manager to help promote the Florida State Fair and the year-round events and experiences hosted at the Fairgrounds. This is a hands-on, collaborative role combining digital marketing, advertising, content, communications, creative development, project management, and event support. Working closely with the Director of Marketing & Partnerships, the Marketing Manager will help develop and execute campaigns, coordinate projects, maintain brand consistency, and support departments across the organization. SUMMARY
The Marketing Manager serves as the primary support to the Director of Marketing & Partnerships in the planning, development, execution, and evaluation of the Florida State Fair Authority's marketing initiatives. This position plays a key role in implementing integrated marketing campaigns, managing advertising and promotional activities, overseeing digital and traditional marketing channels, coordinating marketing projects across departments, and maintaining brand consistency throughout the organization.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist the Director of Marketing & Partnerships with the development and implementation of annual marketing plans, objectives, strategies, and campaigns.
- Coordinate and execute advertising, promotional, public relations, and digital marketing initiatives designed to increase attendance, awareness, and engagement.
- Manage marketing projects from concept through completion, ensuring timelines, budgets, and deliverables are achieved.
- Develop, coordinate, and distribute organizational email marketing campaigns and newsletters.
- Assist with content planning and execution across the website, social media, digital platforms, and other communication channels.
- Monitor marketing campaign performance and provide reporting, analysis, and recommendations for continuous improvement.
- Assist in conducting market research and analyzing audience trends, customer feedback, and competitive activity.
- Maintain and help enforce brand standards across departments, events, publications, signage, and promotional materials.
- Coordinate the creation, production, and distribution of print and digital marketing materials.
- Assist departments throughout the organization with marketing, communications, promotional materials, and event support.
- Manage and maintain website content, event calendars, and related digital resources in coordination with IT and department leaders.
- Oversee the creation, scheduling, and deployment of digital signage throughout the fairgrounds, including marquee electronic signs, security gate LED signs, directional LED signage, gate signage and other digital display assets
- Receive, prioritize, coordinate, and manage signage requests from departments and stakeholders.
- Oversee sign shop workflow, signage inventory, and production processes to support efficiency, accuracy, and cost-effectiveness.
- Coordinate outsourced print production and signage vendors as needed.
- Use graphic design platforms, including Canva and Adobe Creative Suite, to develop marketing and communication materials.
- Manage and support community engagement activities, outreach opportunities, and promotional events.
- Assist with merchandise promotions and coordination of online store marketing efforts.
- Maintain accurate marketing records, project documentation, departmental calendars, and asset libraries.
- Support staffing and operational needs during the annual Florida State Fair and other Authority events.
- Collaborate with internal departments, agencies, vendors, media partners, and community organizations.
- Serve as a marketing department resource and point of contact in the Director's absence.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Marketing & Partnerships or Executive Leadership.
LEADERSHIP/SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
May provide project leadership and workflow direction for marketing staff, interns, seasonal employees, contractors, and volunteers. Assists with coordinating departmental projects, schedules, and resources. Promotes a collaborative, service-oriented environment while supporting organizational goals and maintaining high standards of professionalism and accountability.

QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Business Administration, or a related field is required. Five to seven or more years of progressively responsible experience in marketing, communications, advertising, promotions, public relations, or a related field is required. Preferred qualifications include experience managing marketing campaigns, digital marketing initiatives, creative projects, website content, cross-functional projects, event marketing, entertainment, tourism, attractions, fairs, festivals, sports, venues, or hospitality industries. Experience with graphic design and content development platforms, including Canva and Adobe Creative Suite, is also preferred.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Strong understanding of integrated marketing strategy, campaign execution, digital marketing, email marketing, social media, advertising, and content development best practices.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize competing deadlines, stay organized, and work effectively under pressure.
- Excellent written, verbal, proofreading, and editing skills.
- Ability to analyze marketing data and make recommendations based on performance metrics.
- Experience coordinating vendors, agencies, freelancers, and production partners.
- Strong graphic design skills and creative problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to maintain brand consistency across multiple platforms and departments.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build effective working relationships.
- Ability to work independently while exercising sound judgment and initiative.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Familiarity with website content management systems and digital communication platforms.
- Ability to work nights, weekends, holidays, and extended hours when needed.
- Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-area and overnight travel may occasionally be required.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORKING CONDITIONS:
Duties are performed primarily in an office setting and require operation of a computer and standard office equipment, including a telephone, copier, and printer. The position may require standing, walking, sitting, using hands, reaching with hands and arms, climbing or balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, talking, hearing, and occasionally lifting or moving more than 20 pounds. Environmental conditions may include occasional exposure to wet or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, elevated work areas, outdoor weather, and extreme temperatures.
