The Space Dynamics Laboratory (SDL) is seeking a motivated Multidisciplinary Systems Engineer. The successful candidate will play a key role in defining system architectures, coordinating interdisciplinary engineering efforts, managing requirements, risks, interfaces, and configurations, and ensuring cohesive technical execution across multiple teams. This role is ideal for candidates with a broad technical foundation across multiple engineering disciplines, strong analytical and communication skills, and a desire to contribute to team-based problem-solving in a dynamic, mission-driven environment.

The Strategic & Military Space Division delivers advanced satellite and sensor systems that support the Department of Defense and the Intelligence Community. Key Responsibilities

• Leads or independently executes systems engineering activities throughout the system lifecycle, including requirements development, architecture, design, integration, verification, validation, and test
• Identifies and manages technical risks and develop appropriate mitigation strategies
• Creates and maintains programmatic and technical documentation required for effective planning, execution, and technical reviews
• Coordinates engineering activities to ensure technical deliverables satisfy requirements and remain aligned with program objectives
• Provides systems engineering oversight of design, integration, verification, and test activities
• Advises Program Managers and engineering leadership on technical requirements, system impacts, risks, alternatives, and execution considerations
• Serves as a technical interface with customers, stakeholders, vendors, and subcontractors as appropriate

• Leads portions of technical reviews and support proposal and planning activities
• Provides technical guidance and mentoring to less-experienced engineers
• Supports technical planning by providing inputs to program cost, schedule, staffing, and resource estimates

• Must be a US citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain US Government security clearance
• Bachelor’s in engineering or related science and 8-15 years of relevant experience or a master’s and 6-13 years of relevant experience
• Strong working knowledge of systems engineering processes across the system lifecycle
• Demonstrated experience with requirements development and verification, system architecture, interface management, risk management, configuration management, and trade studies
• Ability to evaluate technical alternatives and understand their impacts on system performance, cost, schedule, risk, and implementation
• Proficiency with systems engineering tools and analysis methods
• Ability to provide technical direction and influence engineering teams without requiring direct supervisory authority
• Experience supporting technical planning, cost estimating, and schedule development
• Strong organization and planning skills with the ability to manage multiple technical priorities
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with customers, stakeholders, and multidisciplinary teams
• Ability to travel as required

• Existing TS/SCI clearance
• Experience implementing Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools and processes
• Experience leading small- to medium-sized multidisciplinary engineering teams or technical efforts
• Experience with small satellite programs including risk mitigations, hardware development, and testing
• Understanding of the space environment

• $110,000-$175,000
• This range serves as a general guideline and may vary based on factors such as role, level, location, market conditions, and individual qualifications, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. The range displayed in the job advertisement reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries across all US locations.
