Job Description

Derivatives Trader

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, which manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Derivatives Trader based in Brazil.

We are looking for a mid-level Derivatives Trader to help build and scale an over-the-counter (OTC) derivatives trading business within the rapidly evolving digital asset market. In this role, you will leverage your expertise in options, forwards, structured products, and derivatives across digital and traditional asset classes to execute client trades and develop effective trading strategies. You will contribute directly to revenue growth while maintaining disciplined risk management and strong trading controls. Working closely with global trading colleagues, quantitative specialists, and engineering teams, you will help strengthen trading infrastructure, improve execution quality, and develop analytical models. You will also provide market insights to internal stakeholders and contribute to client-facing materials. This remote opportunity is suited to a quantitatively minded trading professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is eager to deepen their expertise in cryptocurrency markets.

Accountabilities
  • Develop, execute, and manage trading strategies for digital asset derivatives, including options, forwards, and structured products.

  • Execute and manage OTC derivatives transactions for clients across digital and traditional asset classes, supporting the growth of the trading business.

  • Drive profit and loss (P&L) growth while applying disciplined risk management practices and monitoring market exposure.

  • Analyze derivatives pricing, market movements, liquidity, and market structure to support informed trading decisions.

  • Build, refine, and maintain trading infrastructure, quantitative models, and operational processes that support scalable derivatives trading.

  • Collaborate with quantitative and engineering teams to enhance trading systems, improve execution quality, and strengthen risk management capabilities.

  • Coordinate with colleagues across global locations to support consistent, efficient, and reliable market operations.

  • Monitor trading performance and use data analysis to identify opportunities, assess risks, and improve strategy effectiveness.

  • Communicate market developments, trading insights, and relevant analysis to internal stakeholders.

  • Contribute to the preparation of client-facing market commentary, trading insights, and other relevant materials.

  • Take ownership of trading responsibilities, respond constructively to feedback, and continuously improve processes in a dynamic trading environment.

Requirements
  • Approximately 3–5 years of professional experience in derivatives trading, including options, forwards, and structured products.

  • Prior sell-side derivatives trading experience at a bank is highly valued.

  • Professional experience in cryptocurrency or digital asset markets is strongly preferred.

  • Strong understanding of derivatives pricing, risk management principles, financial markets, and market structure.

  • Strong quantitative and analytical capabilities, with the ability to interpret complex financial models and datasets and translate findings into actionable trading decisions.

  • Coding skills and experience with quantitative modeling and data analysis using Python, R, or other programming languages.

  • Excellent attention to detail and a disciplined, methodical approach to managing trading risk.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain market insights and analytical findings clearly.

  • Intellectual curiosity and a strong interest in cryptocurrency markets, digital assets, and emerging financial technologies.

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-feedback environment while balancing independent decision-making with close collaboration.

  • Strong ownership, accountability, adaptability, and a continuous-learning mindset.

  • Willingness to complete an in-person onboarding process as required by the organization's security policies, despite the role being advertised as remote.

Benefits
  • Remote work arrangement for eligible candidates based in Brazil.

  • Opportunity to help build and scale an OTC derivatives trading business in the digital asset sector.

  • Exposure to derivatives trading across digital and traditional asset classes.

  • Collaboration with global trading, quantitative, and engineering professionals.

  • Opportunities to contribute to quantitative modeling, trading infrastructure, execution optimization, and risk management initiatives.

  • A fast-paced, collaborative environment that encourages ownership, continuous learning, and professional development.

  • Opportunity to contribute to the evolution of institutional digital asset markets and financial technology.
