We are looking for an energetic, self-learner, responsible, and hardworking Low Voltage Technician to join our Hardware Services Team at the largest IT Managed Services Provider (MSP) in Long Island. At Flexible IT, we strive to add value to our clients by sharing our technology expertise. You will be working on a team responsible for supporting and maintaining the technology our clients use to run their businesses. The position requires you to travel to our client’s sites.

Structured Cabling

  • Perform Cable installation, including Data, Voice, Fiber, and Paging
  • Termination, Labeling, Testing and Dressing of cabling
  • Installation of Data Equipment including Racks, Patch Panels, Cable Trays, and J-Hooks
  • Buildout of MDF/IDF Closets
  • Rack and Stack of network devices as required in network closets
  • Ability to perform repairs by troubleshooting existing cabling system issues

Access Control

  • Perform installation of Access Control Cabling
  • Installation and final wiring of Access Control Boards, Readers, and REX Devices
  • Ability to configure Users, Groups, Schedules, Doors, and Credentials via Access Control Software
  • Experience with installation of Wireless and Electronic Locks a plus

IP Surveillance

  • Perform Cable installation for IP Cameras
  • Physical installation of various CCTV camera types
  • Install and Program DVR Recording Units
  • Configure Analytics such as Face Detection and Recognition, People Tracking, Motion Detection, LPR, Intrusion and Perimeter Protection

Additional Skillsets

  • Project Management
  • Industry-specific Manufacturer and BICSI training and/or certifications a plus
  • Ability to read Blueprints and Cable Schematics
  • Networking knowledge of Routers and Switches
  • Drive company vehicles and operate a variety of tools, such as hand tools, power tools, ladders, Scissor Lifts and Test Equipment
