Job Summary
The Department of Early Childhood, Special Education, and Counselor Education (EDSCE) invites applications for a Part-Time Instructor position in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). This instructor position will provide expertise in fieldwork experience for graduate students enrolled in the MS in ABA program and obtaining 2000 required fieldwork hours as a requirement of certification. The position is part-time, non-tenure eligible. This is a 9-month appointment, effective August 17, 2026.

The Distribution of Effort (DOE) for this 50% FTE position is approximately 40% instruction and 10% Service (service to the department). Responsibilities include the following:

Teaching Load (40%)
EDS 612- Advanced Practicum in ABA (1 credit)—Fall and Spring – 12.5%
  • Plan and deliver weekly seminar/group supervision to one section of EDS 612, which could include article discussions, case reviews, etc.
University Fieldwork Supervision – 27.5%
  • Design and implement a structured competency curriculum that bridges coursework to fieldwork.
  • Meet 1:1 with ABA graduate students bi-weekly to assign, review, and expand competency work.
  • Observe ABA graduate students monthly in community placements.

Service Load (10%)
Community Liaison with Community Partners
  • Serve as point of contact for community partners to address student concerns or remedy skill sets.
Programmatic Service
  • Help design a new paperwork documentation process to align with 2027 Fieldwork Requirement Standards that is FERPA-compliant, and shareable with community partners, to complete their supervision documentation.
  • Develop accreditation documentation in alignment with Association for Professional Behavior Analysts (APBA) Standard 2.7, as it pertains to fieldwork supervision managed by the university.

Skills / Knowledge / Abilities
The ideal candidate will possess in-depth knowledge of evidence-based practices for teaching K-12 students with moderate to severe disabilities. They should have strong instructional and assessment skills, the ability to teach and supervise teacher candidates, along with excellent collaboration and communication abilities to foster an inclusive learning environment.
