Med-Radiology - Pennsylvania-Pittsburgh - (26004349)
The Neuroimaging Laboratory at the University of Pittsburgh has a research staff position open immediately. The candidate will participate and/or conduct research experiments in small animals using brain imaging equipment and electrophysiological recordings. The candidate should have a strong interest in brain imaging and neuroscience, and exposure or knowledge in system’s neuroscience, computation, neurophysiology, neural engineering and/or data analysis (signal/image processing). Experience with rodent experimentation, brain imaging (two-photon and optical microscopy or MRI), neural tissue histology and/or data analysis in MATLAB/Python are essential. The candidate will work on longitudinal imaging of rodent brain dynamics in health and disease. The candidate may also be involved in projects related to neural engineering and early detection of Alzheimer’s disease. The incumbent will be working with an interdisciplinary team of neural engineers, neurologists, radiologists, material scientists, and biophysicists.
Performs a variety of independent laboratory work and experiments such as determining experimental protocols and preparation of specimens and cultures. Prepares reports of findings subsequent to compilation and analyzation. Oversees specimen inventory. Develops documentation for publication; crafts manuscripts and grant proposals.
Essential Functions
