Job Description
SUMMARY: The physician will provide Orthopedic Surgery services for Alameda Health System, under employment from Alameda Health Medical Group. Services will be on-site at Highland Hospital, San Leandro Hospital and Alameda Hospital.
DUTIES & ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: NOTE: Following are the duties performed by employees in this classification. However, employees may perform other related duties at an equivalent level. Not all duties listed are necessarily performed by each individual in the classification.
1. Evaluates, diagnoses and treats of diseases and injuries to the musculoskeletal system
2. Orders and interprets musculoskeletal diagnostic imaging tests.
3. Counsels patients in both non-operative and operative modalities to treat Orthopedic pathology
4. Performs patient evaluation and treatment in both the ambulatory and hospital setting.
5. Supervises and participates in education of APP's, residents and medical trainees
6. Documents in the electronic medical record accurately and in a timely manner
7. Provides on—call coverage as agreed upon between the bargaining organizations.
8. Maintains continuing medical education based on the requirements of the Orthopedic Board.
9. Upholds the policies and procedures of the medical staff guidelines
10. Conduct themselves in a professional and respectful manner.
11. Performs additional tasks as needed to facilitate patient care
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.) is required.
Minimum Experience: Completion of an approved residency in an appropriate specialty.
Required: Board Eligible or Board Certified in Orthopedic Surgery
Required Licenses/Certifications: Possession of a valid license to practice medicine in the State of California.

Pay Range: $262.66/Hour - $273.18/Hour
The pay range for this position reflects the base pay scale for the role at Alameda Health System. Final compensation will be determined based on several factors, including but not limited to a candidate’s experience, education, skills, licensure and certifications, departmental equity, applicable collective bargaining agreements, and the operational needs of the organization.
