What You'll Do
As a Mold Maintenance Technician, you'll be responsible for maintaining, repairing, modifying, and fabricating molds and tooling used throughout our manufacturing process. Your work directly impacts the quality, consistency, and efficiency of every boat we build.
Responsibilities
- Inspect, repair, modify, and maintain production molds to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
- Construct, adapt, and improve molds based on engineering drawings, blueprints, and production requirements.
- Diagnose mold wear, damage, or defects and perform corrective repairs to minimize production downtime.
- Set up tooling and equipment according to mold specifications, materials, and production tolerances.
- Perform precision measurements using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other inspection equipment.
- Conduct quality inspections before, during, and after mold maintenance to ensure production readiness.
- Assist with mold changeovers and support production teams during troubleshooting and repairs.
- Collaborate with machinists, maintenance technicians, engineers, and production personnel to improve mold performance and manufacturing efficiency.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and document repairs and modifications.
- Follow all company safety policies and maintain a clean, organized work area.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot and repair precision tooling.
- Experience working with molds, dies, tooling, or manufacturing equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and technical specifications.
- Experience using precision measuring instruments.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
- Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
- Ability to work independently while also contributing to a team environment.
- Commitment to workplace safety and continuous improvement.
- Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and work in a manufacturing environment for extended periods.
- Frequently lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity for precision repair work.
- Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring equipment safely.
- Visual acuity sufficient to inspect molds, identify defects, and read blueprints and technical drawings.
