Exempt – Executive/Administrative

Full-Time

Erie, Colorado

$68,000 - $92,000

Monday – Friday 7:30 am to 5:00 pm

Summary of Position

The Parts Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the parts department including inventory control, parts ordering and sourcing, and supervision of parts staff. This role is critical to keeping equipment rental-ready, minimizing downtime, and ensuring parts are available to support field technicians and shop operations.

Requirements:

Job Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.

• 3+ years of experience in parts management, inventory control, or yard operations, preferably in heavy equipment, construction, or rental industry.

• Working knowledge of heavy equipment components and parts terminology.

• Experience with inventory or rental management software.

• Valid driver's license with an acceptable motor vehicle record.

• Subject to random and suspicion drug tests as part of the company driver program.

• Ability to operate a forklift or telehandler (certification can be provided upon hire).

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

• Ability to communicate effectively with technicians, vendors, and customers.

Preferred Requirements

• Prior supervisory or lead experience.

• Familiarity with OEM parts catalogs for major equipment brands used by the company.

Physical Requirements

• Regularly required to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and lift up to 50 lbs; occasionally lift up to 75 lbs with assistance.

• Work is performed primarily outdoors in a yard/shop environment, with exposure to varying weather conditions, noise, dust, and machinery.

• Must be able to safely operate yard equipment and navigate uneven terrain.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Manage all aspects of the parts department, including ordering, receiving, stocking, and issuing parts for equipment maintenance and repair.

• Maintain accurate parts inventory records using [inventory/rental software system]; conduct regular cycle counts and physical inventories.

• Source parts from vendors and OEM suppliers; negotiate pricing and maintain vendor relationships to control costs and lead times.

• Coordinate with the Service/Shop Manager and field technicians to ensure parts availability aligns with maintenance and repair schedules.

• Supervise, schedule, and train parts staff; assign daily tasks and monitor performance.

• Maintain compliance with OSHA workplace safety standards and company safety policies within the yard and parts department.

• Operate yard equipment (e.g., forklifts, telehandlers) as needed to load and unload parts.

• Track warranty parts claims and returns; process core returns and vendor credits.

• Support month-end inventory reporting and cost control in coordination with the office/accounting team.

• Other duties as assigned.
