Hostess in Marlboro, New Jersey at Cuzins Clam Bar

We are seeking a friendly, high-energy Host/Hostess to join our team. As the first point of contact, you will set the tone for our guests' entire dining experience. You will be responsible for managing the flow of the dining room, welcoming guests with a warm smile, and ensuring excellent service from the moment they walk through our doors.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Greet guests with a warm, friendly welcome upon arrival.
• Manage seating using the floor chart to ensure fair table distribution for servers.
• Escort guests to tables, present menus, and introduce their server.
• Handle reservations and phone inquiries professionally using the RESY system.
• Maintain the waitlist accurately and estimate wait times clearly for guests.
• Keep the host station clean, organized, and stocked with menus.
• Communicate effectively with servers, kitchen staff, and management to maintain smooth operations.
• Address guest complaints with professionalism and escalate issues to management when necessary.

Skills & Qualifications

• Experience: Prior host/hostess experience in a fast-paced restaurant environment required. Knowledge of hotel or restaurant operations is a plus.
• Technology: Familiarity with RESY reservation software is required. Familiarity with POS systems for order entry and seating management is required.
• Communication: Excellent phone etiquette and verbal communication skills.
• Multitasking: Ability to stay calm, organized, and prioritize tasks under pressure.
• Teamwork: A collaborative mindset and willingness to assist food service staff when needed.

Physical Requirements & Availability

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods (up to 8 hours).
• Flexible availability, including weekends, evenings, and holidays. Must be able to work both lunch and dinner shifts.
