Job description:

Diesel Technician (Medium & Heavy-Duty)

At ACTS Fleet, we built this role for experienced diesel technicians who know their craft, take pride in their work, and want to work in a shop where performance, structure, and respect actually align.

What Makes This Different

High-performing technicians shouldn’t be held back by the environment around them.

At ACTS Fleet, everything is built on two principles: clear expectations and trust in execution.

What that looks like:

  • Structured processes and consistent standards across the board
  • Direct, clear communication with leadership
  • The autonomy to do your job—without micromanagement

The Work

You’ll work on medium and heavy-duty commercial trucks and fleet vehicles—both in-shop and in the field—with a focus on uptime, safety, and getting repairs done right the first time.

Day-to-day responsibilities include:

  • Preventative maintenance (DOT inspections, fluids, filters, brakes)
  • Diagnosing and repairing diesel engines
  • Advanced diagnostics on late-model trucks
  • Brake systems, suspension, steering, driveline, and transmissions
  • Electrical systems and emissions components
  • Reading fault codes and diagnostic data accurately
  • Verifying repairs through inspections and test drives

Mobile Service Work:

  • Diagnose and repair equipment directly in the field
  • Work independently with a high level of ownership
  • Represent ACTS Fleet with professionalism and reliability

What You Bring

  • Strong hands-on experience as a diesel technician
  • Advanced diagnostic ability
  • North Carolina State Inspection Certification
  • Familiarity with OEM and aftermarket scan tools
  • Ability to work independently and follow structured processes
  • Clear communication and accountability
  • CDL preferred, not required

This role is built for technicians who:

  • Handle complex diagnostics without relying on others
  • Take ownership of their work—shop or field
  • Prefer working in an environment with consistent standards
  • Want autonomy without chaos
