Are you looking to gain hands-on experience in heavy highway road construction? Siema Construction is seeking a Project Engineer Intern to work alongside experienced professionals and contribute to real-world projects that make an impact. If you're eager to learn, highly motivated, and want to build a career in civil construction, this internship is for you!
What You’ll Be Doing:As a Project Engineer Intern, you’ll collaborate with the Project Superintendent and communicate regularly with the Project Manager and other key personnel. Your role will provide exposure to essential construction management tasks, including:
- Dottie (LA 811) Tickets: Completing and reviewing tickets to ensure accuracy and prevent utility line disruptions.
- Purchase Orders: Coding purchase orders to the correct job phase based on the nature of the purchase.
- Timecards: Reviewing timecards to ensure proper coding of crew hours to the correct project phases.
- Submittals & Ticket Coding: Processing delivery tickets without PO numbers by coding them to the job and submitting them to the Project Superintendent or PM.
- Project Coordination: Assisting with daily construction operations, tracking project documentation, and supporting project engineers in scheduling, reporting, and quality control.
- On-Site Exposure: Gaining field experience by working on active job sites and learning about concrete, dirt work, and paving operations.
Position Requirements:
- Currently pursuing or recently obtained a degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Interest in learning construction processes, project documentation, and fieldwork
- Basic understanding of Microsoft Office & project management software (preferred)
