The Department of Natural Resources (DNR) has an exciting opportunity. Are you responsible, analytical, and good with numbers? This is your chance to demonstrate accountability, accuracy, and professional entry-level review as the Office of Finance, Budget, and Economics seeks to fill the Fiscal Analyst 1 Cashier position.
If you enjoy solving mysteries, providing outstanding customer service, and working in the office, the Fiscal Analyst 1 – Cashier position could be the job for you. This position performs the daily deposit tasks and is responsible for other tasks critical to revenue distribution activities.
Responsibilities:
Agency Cashier
- Perform a daily deposit
- Apply payments to customer accounts
- Reconcile, analyze, and make corrections to bank deposits
- Process returned checks
- Reconcile the agency’s local bank accounts
- Provide agency support for cashiering procedures
- Analyze and reconcile entries with the Office of State Treasurer
- Prepare journal vouchers for entries and/or corrections
- Process monthly JVs for fund distributions
- File monthly leasehold tax
- Prepare and send reports and letters about revenue activity
Required Qualifications:
- One (1) year of fiscal technical experience.
- Experience with accounting principles related to accounts receivable and revenue transactions.
- Experience and proficiency using computers and computer systems, including, but not limited to, Microsoft Office Excel and Word.
- Experience with reconciling financial documents (including bank statements).
- Analytical skills.
- Ability to maintain high levels of accuracy with a heavy workload, applying attention to detail in everyday tasks.
- Ability to focus and prioritize work to meet inflexible deadlines, while dealing with constant interruptions.
- Must possess strong interpersonal relationship skills.
- Consistent ability to communicate with co-workers and diverse clientele effectively and respectfully.

- Travel is generally not a requirement of this position, although it could be necessary on occasion.
- Associate of Arts (AA) degree in accounting or related field, with fifteen (15) course credit hours of accounting, auditing, or budgeting.
- Knowledge of GAAP, specifically revenue and accounts receivable processes and procedures.
- Experience with AFRS and TM$.
- Experience with the NaturE system.
- Experience with the FES system.
