About This Position

The Role at a Glance

Manages the qualification, onboarding, and separation of van operators in compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) and United Van Lines standards (UVL). Oversees background checks, drug testing, training, and access administration. Maintains safety records and assists with audits and documentation.

How You’ll Contribute

In this role, you will play a key part in managing the onboarding and separation process for Hilldrup and Contract Van Operators across all company locations. You’ll oversee the full Tenstreet qualification process, ensuring all steps are completed in compliance with the DOT and UVL standards. You’ll collaborate with HR and other departments to coordinate access to systems, manage documentation, and ensure a smooth transition for all van operators.

You’ll be responsible for conducting background checks, including motor vehicle reports, national checks, and pre-employment screening reports, as well as administering drug testing and coordinating required medical exams. You will ensure the completion of all necessary safety and compliance training, the upkeep of the Safety Hot List, and proper recordkeeping of certifications. Additionally, you’ll manage background check documentation for ride-along passengers and service crew members.

You’ll also maintain accurate contact groups for operators, issue Driver Access Keys, and provide support during company audits. When a Van Operator's tenure ends, you’ll oversee the separation or contract termination process and notify the appropriate internal teams.

Lastly, you’ll assist with Independent Contractor Operating Agreements (ICOAs) and provide administrative support to the team.

Qualifications and Skills

Education/Work Experience

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • One to three years of operations/administrative experience, preferably in the moving industry
