Extrusion Operator at Corvac Composites, LLC – Kentwood, Michigan

BACKGROUND REQUIRED:

• High School Diploma / GED preferred
• 2 years’ plastics experience required
• 2 years of supervision experience
• Must have standard knowledge in plastics and extrusion
• Mathematical & Mechanical aptitude
• Ability to use and read measuring devices
• Solid technical skills
• Must be able to acquire a HILO license

SPECIAL SKILLS:

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and twist for up to 12 – hour shift

• Use of Microsoft office products
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to use various hand tools
• Ability to work independently

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Adjust, calibrate and test equipment at the beginning of every shift to ensure proper pressure, speed, temperature and general operation.
• Set the dials and controls on the machine to ensure that the created product is the right size, shape and thickness
• Measure and orientation test it to make sure sheet conforms to the requested specifications.
• Follow standardized work instructions
• Fully participate in and support the Corvac Quality System
• Ensuring that the sheet has no defects and meets quality standards
• Complete accurate documentation for all required areas per shift
• Maintain a safe, well organized and efficient work area
• Perform PM’s as required
