Job descriptionNon-Ferrous ClerkJob Description/ResponsibilitiesReporting to the Facility Manager, the Non-Ferrous Clerk, under supervision, loads andunloads material from customer vehicles, sorts into appropriate container and areas, uses mechanizedequipment to sort and or break down material for customer use.

Inspects inbound material received from suppliersIdentifies non-ferrous metals and sorts different commodities according to mill specifications, or sorts commodities for further processingPackages scrap in appropriate manner for shipping including, but not limited to, stacking scrap auto batteries on palletsOperates alligator shear to size material according to specificationMoves material in the yard or warehouse area utilizing forklift or bobcatGeneral housekeepingMay operate aluminum can flattener/blowerMay operate horizontal hydraulic baler to process certain commoditiesMay be taught how to operate and perform basic maintenance or a forkliftOther responsibilities as assigned or requiredWears all necessary Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when working in the yard.Follows company safety standards at all times. Failure to follow ALL safety requirements may result in loss of position.

Requirements

High School diploma or GED preferred but not requiredMust be able to interact with customers and vendors in a friendly and courteous mannerPrior experience operating forklift and heavy machinery preferred but not required; some mechanical knowledge a plus but not required as we will train applicable candidatesCDL license is a plusKnowledge of hand tools for minor repairsMust be able to life a minimum of 30-50 lbs. and 100+lbs. on 2-person liftBasic knowledge of metals preferred but will teach the right candidateJob Type: Full-time

Pay: $21-$23 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week
