At Shannon Medical Center in San Angelo, we’re looking for a skilled Ultrasound Technologist to join our team and help deliver exceptional care for our patients. If you’re dedicated to producing high-quality diagnostic images, providing compassionate care, and being a key player in a collaborative healthcare environment, we want to hear from you!
As an Ultrasound Technologist, you’ll play an essential role in our diagnostic team by performing imaging exams that help physicians diagnose and treat a wide range of conditions. You’ll be working with state-of-the-art ultrasound equipment, while ensuring that every patient feels at ease and informed throughout their experience.
What You’ll Do:
- Perform Ultrasound Examinations: Use cutting-edge ultrasound equipment to obtain high-quality images of patients' organs, tissues, and blood vessels, helping to diagnose conditions and guide treatment plans.
- Patient Care & Comfort: Explain ultrasound procedures to patients, making sure they feel comfortable and relaxed. Provide excellent care before, during, and after the examination to ensure a positive experience.
- Collaborate with Medical Team: Work closely with radiologists and physicians to ensure that ultrasound results are accurate, detailed, and available in a timely manner to support patient care.
- Maintain Equipment & Safety: Operate and maintain ultrasound equipment, ensuring that it’s properly calibrated, sanitized, and functioning optimally. Adhere to safety and infection control protocols.
- Document & Record Results: Accurately document patient information, exam results, and any relevant details to ensure proper medical records and follow-up care.
- Support Patients Throughout the Process: Help patients feel at ease during their exams by offering reassurance, explaining the procedure, and answering any questions they may have
What we’re looking for:
- Graduate from an accredited program in Diagnostic Medical Sonography or Ultrasound Technician
- Able to demonstrate competency in 1 major area recognized by ARDMS, ARRT or CCI and able to perform exams at a proficient skill level (i.e. General, OB/GYN, Vascular, Breast)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certificate
- Current, valid driver’s license
- American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS)
- Registered in one of the following areas:
- Abdominal
- Vascular
- Breast
- OBGYN
