Physician Asst MGM at Beacon Health System – Kalamazoo, Michigan

Provides direct patient care under the supervision of a physician.

• Obtains patient history and performs assessment.
• Orders, performs and interprets diagnostic procedures. Provides and documents direct treatment and management of health conditions.
• Provides counseling and education of patients and their families/caregivers concerning treatment options and community resources.
• Performs preventative health assessments, screening, immunizations and care.
• First Assist in the OR for both Kalamazoo and Allegan.
• Triage patient concerns with phone and clinic.
• Pre and Post OP Clinic Care.

Required Credential(s):

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Physician Assistant with Prescriptive Authority credentialed from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
• Verified by local Credentialing Office.
• Physician Assistant with Prescriptive Authority credentialed from the Michigan Board Physician Assistants Task Force and DEA obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. Verified by local Credentialing Office.

Preferred Credential(s):

• Advanced Life Support. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

Education:

• Graduate of accredited Physician Assistant program. Master's degree preferred.
