About This Position

Description:

#LI-Remote

Position is remote and preferred in the East or Southeast United States.

Who We Are:

Priority Power is an independent energy management services and consulting firm. We act as an extension of our client’s staff to develop and implement strategies that mitigate risk and overcome challenges associated with managing energy data, supply, demand, and delivery infrastructure. By leveraging our deep experience and resources, combined with unsurpassed commitment, Priority delivers financial and operational improvements to our clients as their trusted energy advisors.

Our Mission

Our mission is to lead the energy transition with innovative client-focused solutions built upon integrity, trust, and transparency.

Position Summary

Priority Power is seeking a Strategic Accounts Advisor to join our growing team. This is a client-facing sales and advisory role designed for an experienced energy professional, someone with a background as an energy procurement (electric or gas) broker, who is ready to take ownership of a book of business and drive new growth. With 3–7 years of industry experience, you understand how clients buy energy, what keeps them up at night, and how to position solutions that genuinely solve problems.

You will be responsible for originating new business, managing the full sales cycle, and serving as a trusted advisor to clients across commercial, industrial, and mid-market segments. This is a hybrid inside/outside sales role: the majority of your time will be office-based, with meaningful time in the field for client meetings, site visits, and industry events. The ideal candidate knows the Southeast and Eastern U.S. energy landscape and understands how public institutions make decisions.

Responsibilities

  • Originate new business across municipalities, cooperatives, higher-education institutions, school districts, and healthcare systems.
  • Build and manage a strong pipeline through proactive outreach, relationship development, and opportunity identification.
  • Advise clients on Priority Power’s full suite of services, including energy procurement, distributed generation, grid infrastructure, storage, load optimization, and regulatory insights.
  • Manage the entire sales process—from discovery and solution scoping to proposal development and deal negotiation.
  • Partner with internal engineering, regulatory, analytics, and operations teams to deliver tailored solutions.
  • Develop trusted relationships with key stakeholders such as city managers, cooperative leadership, facilities directors, superintendents, and hospital executives.
  • Stay current on regional market dynamics, regulatory developments, and competitive activity across the Southeast and Eastern U.S.

Who You Are:

You’re a credible energy professional with real market experience. You’ve helped clients buy electricity or gas, whether as a broker, consultant, or advisor, and you understand the nuances of deregulated markets, supply contracts, and how pricing works. You’re a self-starter who thrives in a consultative sales environment, builds genuine relationships, and knows how to move deals forward without being pushy. People describe you as trustworthy, sharp, and easy to work with.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • 3-7 years of experience in energy sales, brokerage, procurement consulting, or a closely related field.
  • Experience advising within the MUSH vertical.
  • Understanding of both regulated and deregulated electricity markets.
  • Proven track record in direct sales, business development, or complex solution selling.
  • Deep familiarity with the Southeast and Eastern U.S. energy landscape and customer base.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Experience selling or advising on distributed generation, renewable energy, storage, or grid infrastructure projects.
  • Ability to successfully originate business without relying on formal RFPs.
  • Ability to manage long sales cycles and multiple stakeholders.

What Success Looks Like

  • A consistently growing pipeline built through proactive outreach.
  • Strong relationships with public-sector and cooperative decision-makers.
  • Closing deals that generate recurring annual revenue across the MUSH segment.
  • Clear, professional communication and reliable follow-through.
  • Effective collaboration with internal technical and regulatory teams.
