About This Position
As a Therapist, you will be responsible for a patient caseload and will provide group, individual, and family therapy, conduct bio-psychosocial assessments. You will collaborate with the Treatment Team to formulate the master treatment plan and assist in coordinating discharge planning. The Therapist has primary responsibility for maintaining communication with the family, referral source and other service providers as needed, as well as act as a liaison with the UR Department on all aspects of patient care.
An ideal applicant will have the ability to assist in monitoring and improving retention of patients for outcomes that support long-term recovery from addiction.
Responsibilities:
- LCSW / LMHC / LMFT (or licensed intern) preferred
- Knowledge of Substance Use/ Co-occurring Treatment
- Flexible Schedule Weekends/Holidays when needed
- Ability to rely on experience, knowledge, and judgment to provide services with limited supervision or direction
- Must be able to work collaboratively with other divisions, departments and service lines to support the overall mission of White Sands.
- Knowledge of Utilization Review requirements for documentation and level of care.
- Formulate a comprehensive treatment plan with patient that effectively addresses patient issues has clearly stated treatment goals and objectives that are measurable and can be completed within established time frames
- Participate effectively in multidisciplinary treatment plan reviews, demonstrating adequate preparation and understanding of patient issues, progress, strengths and weaknesses, areas of resistance, positive and negative strategies, and use good clinical judgment in moving patient through treatment levels.
- Develop interventions that will accomplish goals and objectives and state the planned frequency of interventions
- Maintain clinical records according to program policies and those of licensing and accrediting agencies, document the patient’s progress accurately as it relates to treatment goals and objectives, ensure that documentation is timely, consistent, clear and articulate and keep clinical records secure at all times
- Complete activity and group plans in advance for the Program Director including supplies utilized and/or needed
- Conduct educational groups (lectures/videos/discussions) effectively
- Address problem behaviors, confront counter-productive behavior appropriately in a manner that elicits respect and bonds with the patient while still enforcing program rules and regulations in a firm but fair manner
- Assist patients to understand treatment goals and give her a clear picture of where she stands with regard to progress toward recovery as seen by the therapist and the multidisciplinary treatment team
- Adapt to different types of patients and diverse population
- Attention to detail as it relates to data collection for the program
- Maintain healthy boundaries
- Ability to meet quality standards
Education:
- Master's Degree in Human Services field
- Clinical Licensure in the state of Florida (LMHC, LCSW, LMFT) preferred
- CAP, MCAP Certified preferred
Experience:
- Demonstrated experience developing and maintaining systems to efficiently serve patients
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience serving patients with mental health and substance use disorders.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Excellent strategic and problem-solving skills
- Must be able to meet deadlines and work under pressure in a complex and changing environment.
