Reports to: Production Manager
Job purpose
This position is for residential and commercial fire and water clean-up and restoration. Job assignments include but are not limited to specialty mitigation services, light demolition, water extraction, carpet and upholstery cleaning, mold abatement, vandalism clean-up, fire and smoke damage mitigation, content move-outs and pack ins, and content cleaning.
Reporting Relationships
• The Restoration Technician shall report directly to the Production Manager, but daily project work may be directed by an assigned Supervisor on a per project basis. The Supervisor is the position assigned as a Supervisor of a work project. Supervisors include Crew Chief or Foreman, Project Manager, Production Manager and the Branch Manager.
• In the absence of the Production Manager, the Restoration Technician reports to the Crew Chief designated as Supervisor while the Production Manager is gone.
• Temporary laborers may report to this position if assigned to do so by the Supervisor.
Duties and responsibilities
• Safely complete work assignments, and communicate to the Supervisor any and all difficulties or problems with completing work assignments in a safe, productive and quality manner. Restoration Technician is responsible to communicate reasonable solutions to difficulties and problems, and to communicate to the Supervisor the actions needed to overcome these problems.
• Drive a company vehicle to locations designated by customers. Ensures supplies, material, and tools provided to complete work assignments are safely used in accordance with instructions, and that after work assignments are complete they are safely stored in the work vehicle for transport. Clear the work site by moving furniture and equipment and restore the work site to the original configuration when the job is complete.
• Execute all work to meet or exceed applicable federal, state and local regulations and company and customer quality standards while providing world-class customer service.
• Become proficient in fire and water restoration, as well as mold abatement.
• Establish and maintain a schedule to ensure all services are delivered in a timely fashion, above the line, professionally and with empathy including participation in “On-Call rotation” which involves some nights and weekend assignments.
• Respond to water jobs and initiate water mitigation according to IICRC and ServiceMaster standards.
• Keep a clean and neat jobsite at all times leaving a first-class impression of our work.
• Maintain all company restoration and cleaning equipment, keeping them clean and properly maintained to be available at all times.
• Complete time sheets daily. Verify the customer name and spelling to ensure accurate record keeping.
• Comply with all verbal and written safety practices including the use and maintenance of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Read and comprehend all applicable MSDSs for chemicals that require special handling and use of PPE.
• Adhere and comply with all company policies.
Qualifications
The requirements are, but not limited to, as follows:
• Mental: Must have the capacity to conduct customer conversation, manage temporary laborers, complete simple mathematical calculations, and complete paperwork.
• Language: Must be able to understand directions and engage in reasonable conversations with clients, employees, and management.
• Mechanical: Must have mechanical aptitude.
The licensing/registration/certification requirements for this position are, but not limited to, as follows:
• Required: Valid State Driver’s License
• Preferred: None
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
• Must be proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel) and other computer software. Must also have a functional understanding of handheld smart devices and an aptitude for learning new technology and all applicable software as determined.
• Detail oriented.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
• Strong communication skills.
• Ability to lift up to 70 pounds
Measurement of Performance
The measure of performance of the Restoration Technician is, but not limited to, as follows:
• Completed all projects in accordance with the instructions of the Supervisor, and communicated problems accurately.
• Obtained supplies, material, and tools needed to complete work assignments as required by the Supervisor.
• Completed all projects assigned in a timely and quality manner.
• Maintained a safe, clean, and organized vehicle and workplace.
• Maintained complete customer satisfaction.
• Managed his/her time in a manner which adhered to company policies, and enabled Technician to produce work in a quality and productive manner.
• Adhered to all company policies as outlined in the Company Employee Handbook and Safety Manual.
• Maintained necessary personal transportation and driver’s license.
• Maintained paper work, including the daily timesheet and expense report, in a timely and accurate manner.
Working conditions
Working conditions will be mostly on a job site in adverse conditions ranging from extreme heat to extreme cold, with some work completed in a climate-controlled environment. This position will require alternate bending and lifting of large items up to 70 pounds.
Physical requirements

• Body Movements: Walking, bending, reaching, grasping, lifting, flexing and bending arms, legs, hands, and fingers, and driving.
• Body Senses: Must be able to see, hear, speak, and smell.
Direct reports
Temporary laborers may report to this position if assigned to do so by the Supervisor.
