Overnight Maintenance Tech (Food Manufacturing Experience) in Jacksonville, Florida at Shaws Southern Belle Frozen Foods Inc

Performs scheduled/unscheduled maintenance and installation tasks on the physical plant, equipment and machinery, according to standards. This position requires demonstration of competency for all on-the-job activities that may have a direct or indirect effect on product safety, legality and/or quality.

• Ability to read and interpret production schedule and requirements for set up.
• Completes set up of production lines for morning shift.
• Performs assigned preventive maintenance tasks.
• Performs scheduled maintenance on plant equipment and machinery.
• Responds to and corrects equipment stoppage/mechanical breakdown. Troubleshoots (when necessary). Repairs/replaces worn/defective parts, motors, control devices, etc.
• Working knowledge/understanding of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, distribution control, fluidic, and electrical systems/components and operation.
• Working knowledge of maintenance work order software.
• Operates machine shop equipment and makes required parts when necessary.
• Maintains cleanliness of work area.
• Practice and comply with all Company policies and procedures.
• Performance other duties which are deemed by management to be an integral part of the job, including but not limited to fulfillment of work schedules, adherence to attendance policies, and other applicable operating rules, policies and procedures.

Preferred Skills:

• Previous experience with food manufacturing.
• Troubleshooting and repairing electrical and mechanical systems.·
• Read and interpret mechanical, electrical, hydraulic blueprints, schematics, and engineering documents.·
• Manual dexterity, frequently squat, bend, climb and ability to lift 50 lbs.

Education and Preferred Qualifications:

· 1 or more years’ experience as Production Operator or Technician.

· Dependable initiative-taker

· Electrical repairs, Industrial Equipment installation, alignment, start-up repairs, etc.

· Experience in a food plant, with knowledge of GMP's and SQF requirements is a plus.

· High speed packaging equipment experience a plus.
