About This Position

Description:

The Le Meridien | Sheraton Charlotte Hotel is currently seeking a dynamic, and motivated individual for the position of Director of Events at our StepStone Hospitality managed hotel. This candidate should demonstrate excellent organizational & communication skills; a strong proficiency in multi-tasking with hospitality sales experience essential.

The responsibilities include but are not limited to:

· Lead the overall events strategy to achieve and exceed annual revenue and profitability goals aligned with the hotel’s budget.

· Partner with Sales Leadership to establish and execute a targeted sales and marketing plan focused on group and catering business development.

· Drive revenue optimization through strategic pricing, upselling initiatives, and comprehensive understanding of market demand.

· Assist with the development of banquet menus.

· Participate in 30-60-90 day banquet forecasting.

· Direct all aspects of event planning and execution, ensuring flawless coordination across departments including Banquets, Culinary, and Operations.

· Lead conference planning meetings, ensuring alignment on all event details, logistics, and service standards.

· Establish and maintain operational standards, processes, and documentation to ensure consistency and excellence in execution.

Requirements:

3-5 years event catering experience preferred.

  • Knowledge of CI/TY and Marriott systems to include Lightspeed
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Office, Internet Explorer/Google Chrome
  • Well organized and detail oriented
