🕒 Employment Type: Per Diem - 10 weeks

📌 Shift/Schedule:Selected interns must commit to all program dates. There are no exceptions. Must be prepared for a full 36–40-hour commitment per week. Weekend rotation required. The Intern may be required to work on a holiday. Must be available for a day and/or night shift position. This commitment will prepare the Interns for the responsibilities of a professional nurse.

🎯 About the Role

Our 10-week Summer Nurse II Internship Program is designed to provide nursing students with an educational opportunity to improve their nursing skills in the clinical setting while at the same time providing them with employment for the summer and during school breaks. Under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse, the Nurse I Intern will provide direct patient care, gain hands-on experience, and enhance communication and assessment skills.

• While working in a collegial relationship with RNs, the Summer Nurse Intern II will gain a better understanding of professional practice.
• Educational in-services are presented throughout the summer to further supplement the learning process.
• Summer Nurse II Interns will receive a competitive salary. Centralized and unit-based orientation will be provided.
• The Saratoga Hospital Nursing Care Model combines Relationship-Based Care with an evidence-based approach. This allows for a stronger connection between the nursing care team and the patient and assists with an enhanced individualized approach to deliver appropriate care.
• During this 10-week program, the Summer Nurse II intern will discover our Magnet culture, which includes a culture of teamwork, professionalism, mutual respect, and acquire valuable insight into the various key roles of a professional nurse.
• Upon successful completion of the Summer Nurse II internship, interns will continue their Patient Care Assistant position, with flexible hours to meet the demands of the academic school year. Upon graduation from a nursing program, interns are encouraged to apply for the Saratoga Hospital New Graduate Nurse Residency Program.

📋 What You Bring

• • Currently employed as a Saratoga Hospital PCA.
  • Attain senior status in nursing program in the fall of 2026.
  • Anticipate graduation from nursing program within one year from the end of internship.
  • Have completed at least one acute care clinical.
  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 out of 4.0. Updated transcripts will be required after completion of fall 2026 semester.
  • Must have current BLS through the American Heart Association.
