About This Position

Description:

Purpose of the Job:

The Quality Specialist supports the Quality Management System (QMS) by ensuring product conformity, effective discrepancy resolution, supplier quality oversight, and compliance with applicable regulatory and customer requirements. This role works closely with suppliers, customers, and internal departments to maintain product integrity, support continuous improvement initiatives, and uphold the organization’s commitment to quality and compliance.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Oversee discrepancy resolution for procured products, including managing vendor claims, communicating with suppliers, and issuing RMAs (Return Material Authorizations) for customers.
  • Coordinate the receipt, processing, and shipment of RMA products between customers and suppliers, and handle non-warranty repair orders for designated product lines.
  • Participate in RAIL meetings with customers and suppliers to address product issues and ensure smooth operations.
  • Administer the Calibration Program
  • Help ensure conformance to ASA-100 and AS 9120 standards as directed by the quality department.
  • Actively maintain the Quality Manuals and associated documents, ensuring all required publications are current and accurate.
  • Maintain personal training records and logs and assist the Quality Department with continuous improvement initiatives and projects.
  • Collaborate and meet with all departments to support unit acceptance and release processes, resolving issues as needed to ensure quality standards are met.
  • Support the Quality Department with Vendor Quality Surveys, audits for vendor approval, maintain the approved vendor list, and track vendors’ performance.
  • Assist with analyzing quality data and reports to provide insights into continuous department improvement.
  • Maintain company records as required by the quality department and perform other tasks as delegated by the Quality Manager related to the Quality Management System.
Requirements:
  • Demonstrates a positive, professional attitude with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Possesses excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field and/or a minimum of 3–5 years of relevant experience in a quality, aerospace, or regulated environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, with the ability to prepare reports, analyze data, and maintain documentation.
  • Working knowledge and understanding of quality management systems, preferably within an AS9120 and/or ASA-100 accredited environment.

  • Aerospace Industry Quality Training (Which includes QMS training, FAA 00 56, Traceability, 8130-3 documents, PAH’s, ESD, Suspected Unapproved Parts, Shelf Life/LLP’s, ATA Spec 300, PMA Parts, Direct Ship Authority, Standard Terminology)
  • Quality team required training listed in the record of training / competency form # S3-FM-04
