About the role
The Material Handler is responsible for moving, staging, and supplying materials to support production and warehouse operations. This role ensures raw materials, packaging, and finished goods are handled accurately, safely, and in compliance with food safety and quality requirements.
What you'll do
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
· Move raw materials, packaging, and finished goods between storage and production areas
· Stage materials for production runs according to work orders and schedules
· Verify material identity, lot codes, and quantities before movement or use
· Supply production lines with materials as needed to prevent downtime
· Remove finished goods, scrap, and unused materials from production areas
· Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely
· Perform basic inventory transactions in ERP or warehouse systems
· Support cycle counts, physical inventories, and material reconciliations
· Maintain clean, organized, and clearly labeled storage and staging areas
· Follow all food safety, GMP, quality, and safety requirements
Qualifications
Required Qualifications & Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Forklift experience or willingness to become certified
- Ability to read work orders, material labels, and basic inventory documents
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Reliable, self-motivated, and team-oriented
Desired Qualifications & Traits
· 1–3 years of material handling, warehouse, or manufacturing experience preferred
· Professional demeanor and positive presence when interacting with vendors and staff
· Ability to work collaboratively with production, shipping, and administrative teams
· Dependable, proactive, and adaptable to changing priorities
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs repetitively
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and operate material handling equipment throughout the shift
- Comfortable working in a manufacturing and warehouse environment
