The Direct Care Program Supervisor – Residential Operations (“Program Supervisor”) serves as the primary operational leader responsible for the complete day-to-day management, supervision, coordination, and accountability of an assigned residential group home.
This role ensures that each home operates in a safe, structured, staffed, compliant, person-centered, behaviorally informed, medically coordinated, and audit-ready condition at all times.
This role functions as the single point of operational accountability within the assigned home and requires continuous awareness of resident needs, staff performance, behavioral risks, medical concerns, and compliance status.
Supervisors are expected to proactively identify and resolve issues, ensuring that all aspects of the home remain aligned with organizational and regulatory standards.
Responsibilities:
The Program Supervisor is accountable for managing the home comprehensively, including:
- Staff performance and supervision
- Resident safety and supervision
- Execution of residential habilitation services
- Medical and medication oversight and appointment follow-up
- Documentation review and regulatory compliance
- Incident reporting and serious event response
- Emergency and crisis intervention
- Daily operations, transportation coordination, and environmental safety
Department: Residential Habilitation / Group Home Operations
Reports To: Director of Residential Habilitation Programs, Executive Director, and/or Chief Executive Officer
Supervises: Direct Support Professionals, Residential Trainers, Lead Residential Trainers, Shift Leads, Relief Staff, and other assigned residential personnel.
Employment Classification: Full-Time / Exempt / On-Call with flexibility to work all and any shifts
Work Schedule: Flexible and operationally driven; must be available for 24-hour program oversight, emergency response, on-call coverage, shift monitoring, and after-hours residential needs
Primary Work Location: Assigned FTC Group Home, with required travel to agency offices, appointments, ADT sites, meetings, trainings, and other locations as needed
Requirements:Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree and or relevant years of experience.
- Knowledge of direct support practices for individuals with developmental disabilities is highly desirable.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed.
- Previous experience in a group home, nursing home, retirement home, or similar setting is preferred.
- Prior experience working in a group home, residential care setting, developmental disabilities program, behavioral health setting, healthcare setting, or human services environment preferred.
- Prior supervisory or leadership experience preferred.
- Ability to pass all required background screening.
- Ability to complete required APD, Medicaid Waiver, agency, CPR/First Aid, HIPAA, abuse/neglect/exploitation, medication assistance, behavior-related, emergency preparedness, and other required trainings.
- Valid driver’s license may be required depending on assignment.
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English sufficiently to complete documentation, communicate with staff and leadership, and respond to emergencies.
- Bilingual ability may be preferred depending on residents and family needs.
