Provides comprehensive patient care in sports medicine, focusing on illness and injury prevention, conservative rehabilitation, and surgical intervention to support an active and healthy lifestyle. Reviews and synthesizes patient medical history and clinical data to guide assessment, diagnosis, and treatment planning. Delivers education, consultation, and therapeutic interventions to patients and families, while promoting wellness and the role of exercise in overall health. Utilizes knowledge of exercise physiology, biomechanics, nutrition, psychology, and rehabilitation to inform care decisions. Collaborates with patients and multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care across settings, ensures accurate documentation in the electronic medical record, and may participate in on-call coverage. Contributes to quality improvement initiatives and supports efforts to enhance patient outcomes, workflows, and overall care delivery.

Compensation

EXAMPLE

We are committed to providing wage information for all open positions. This position offers a $362,000 (base guarantee), with productivity opportunity above the base and quality incentive pay determined annually. Compensation is structured using a team-based RVU model, with productivity pooled and distributed equitably based on FTE. Providers benefit from consistent earnings, with historical compensation at or above guaranteed levels.

Required Qualifications

Doctor of Medicine (MD), Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO), or foreign equivalent from an approved school of medicine
Completion of an ACGME- or AOA-accredited residency training program in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine
Completion of an ACGME- or AOA-accredited fellowship training program in Sports Medicine
0–2 years of demonstrated experience in the designated specialty area
Licensed Physician with the Minnesota Board of Medical Practice required
Board certified by one of the following with a Certificate of Added Qualification (CAQ) in Sports Medicine upon hire:
- American Board of Emergency Medicine
- American Board of Family Medicine
- American Board of Internal Medicine
- American Board of Pediatrics
National Provider Identifier (NPI) required upon hire
Must be enrolled in NH+C RQI program for BLS certification and complete the requirements within 90 days of enrollment. Must remain current (complete quarterly assignments prior to the end of each calendar quarter).
Complete required de-escalation and crisis prevention training upon hire and on an annual basis, including adherence to NH+C reporting standards, preparedness protocols, and response procedures.
Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) registration required upon hire
Prescription Monitoring Program (PMP) registration required upon hire
Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification required upon hire, depending on business unit
