Supervisor, Supply Chain at Westchester Medical Center – Valhalla, New York

The Supervisor, Supply Chain is responsible for the supervision of personnel in the hospital distribution center. They oversee their team whose responsibilities included receiving, shipping, unpacking, picking, staging, storage, verification and all other activities required to successfully maintain adequate supplies of stock and non-stock items for all hospital member institutions. They will assist in planning, organizing and controlling inventory levels to achieve corporate turnover, inventory dollars and service level objectives. . They will also be responsible for inventory variance pertaining to handling errors.

Responsibilities:

• Directs the work of staff engaged in receiving/distribution of stock and non-stock items used by member institutions.
• Implements/oversees correct record keeping and paperwork handling by subordinate staff to ensure accurate and complete documentation of all items received/distributed.
• Integrates work output with Inventory Control Manager to ensure the appropriate level of inventory is maintained on all stock items.
• Aids in controlling inventory dollars to achieve corporate turnover and service levels.
• Participates in the development of distribution center policies/procedures. Makes recommendation regarding changes in procedures needed to accommodate member institution needs.
• Responds to routine/emergency supply and equipment problems from member institutions, including driving transportation vehicles.
• Participates in the interview/selection process. Provides evaluation and disciplinary actions where appropriate
• Supervises Supply Transport Specialists involved in the transportation of material and supplies between all components of the hospital.

Qualifications/Requirements:

Experience: A minimum of two to five years of experience in supply chain. (Preferred)

Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent

Licenses / Certifications: N/A

Special Requirements: Computer knowledge in; Word, Excel, Microsoft, etc.
