Job Summary:

Supports the Director of Supply Chain as a senior resource responsible for advanced healthcare purchasing operations, clinical product support, data analysis, and value analysis activities. Serves as a subject matter expert in hospital supply chain operations and acts as a key liaison between Supply Chain and clinical departments.
This position functions as the secondary operational leader of the purchasing function and is responsible for supporting GPO contract management, product evaluations, data analysis, and committee coordination.
The position requires either strong hospital purchasing experience or significant acute-care clinical experience. The incumbent must be capable of interacting with physicians and clinical leadership as a subject matter expert.

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Supply Chain, Business Administration, Nursing, or related field preferred.
Equivalent combination of hospital purchasing experience or acute-care clinical experience considered.

Registration/Certification/Licensure:

Preferred, not required:
• RN License
• Certified Materials & Resource Professional (CMRP)
• Surgical Technologist Certification

Experience:
-
-
Minimum 5 years of experience in one of the following areas:
- Hospital purchasing or materials management
- Healthcare supply chain operations
- Acute care clinical environment

Preferred:
Acute care clinical experience such as:
- Registered Nurse
- Surgical Technologist
- OR Lead or Coordinator
- Clinical specialty roles

OR
Advanced hospital purchasing experience including:
- Contract activation
- Vendor management
- Clinical product support
- Experience using Meditech and familiarity with medical supplies and devices, preferred.

Other Requirements:
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills including pivot tables, lookup functions, and data analysis
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to present analytical findings to clinical and administrative leadership
- Ability to function as a subject matter expert in healthcare purchasing
- Demonstrated organizational, mathematical, and analytical skills required to effectively perform job duties.
- Effectively communicates with all staff by implementing organization-wide communication techniques as a daily practice.
- Demonstrated proficiency of computer skills necessary to effectively complete position requirement—strong MS Excel and Meditech experience, preferred; MS Word, and web-based applications.
- Previous experience and demonstrated professionalism in effectively communicating with customers and in promoting a positive service atmosphere.
- Ability to work independently in a multi-task environment producing quality work.
- Effectively performs other departmental duties and assignments within the relative scope of the position when the need arises within the department.

Preferred:
- Experience with Meditech Materials Management module or similar MMIS
- Experience working with healthcare GPOs such as Vizient or Premier
- Maintains unit-specific and hospital competencies, mandatory learning, and any clinical certifications required in accordance with the Staff Education and Training policy GA-057 and/or any other department requirements.
