Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented Legends Technician to support production by operating laser engraving equipment and preparing high-quality electrical identification materials. This role is responsible for producing wire markers, terminal markers, engraved nameplates, and labeling components used in UL-listed electrical equipment such as switchboards, panelboards, and control panels.

The ideal candidate has strong attention to detail, experience working in a manufacturing environment, and the ability to follow technical documentation to ensure all labeling meets customer specifications, industry standards, and production timelines.

Job Duties:

  • Operate laser engraving equipment to produce lamacoid nameplates, device labels, and equipment identification tags

  • Generate and prepare wire markers, heat shrink sleeves, and terminal block markers per wiring diagrams and panel schedules

  • Interpret electrical schematics, panel layouts, wire lists, and BOMs to ensure correct labeling and identification

  • Ensure all legends and markers comply with UL 508A, UL 891, NEC labeling requirements, and customer specifications

  • Support identification for switchboards, panelboards, control panels, PLC panels, and relay panels

  • Maintain consistency in device tagging, wire numbering, and terminal identification across all projects

  • Stage and organize labeling kits for panel assembly and wiring teams

  • Perform quality checks to verify accuracy, legibility, and durability of all engraved and printed materials

  • Set up, calibrate, and maintain laser engraving systems and labeling equipment

  • Track inventory of engraving materials (phenolic/lamacoid, stainless steel, acrylic) and labeling supplies

  • Collaborate with engineering, drafting, and production teams to resolve discrepancies in tagging, nomenclature, or panel documentation

  • Support UL inspection readiness by ensuring proper and consistent identification across assemblies

  • Maintain clean work area and proper documentation of completed work.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Experience in a UL panel shop, control panel manufacturing, or electrical assembly environment

  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wire diagrams, and panel layouts

  • Strong attention to detail, especially with wire numbers, device tags, and terminal identification

  • Basic computer skills for operating engraving software and labeling systems

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment and meet deadlines

  • Strong organizational and communication skills

  • U.S. work authorization without sponsorship

  • Ability to pass drug screening and background checks

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Hands-on experience with laser engraving systems (Gravograph, Trotec, Epilog, or similar)

  • Familiarity with wire processing and marking systems (Brady, Panduit, Phoenix Contact, Weidmüller, etc.)

  • Knowledge of terminal blocks, DIN rail components, and control panel devices

  • Understanding of panel wiring practices and electrical identification standards

  • Experience working with lamacoid/phenolic engraving materials and metal nameplates.
