Position Overview
The Electrical Lead Installer is responsible for leading the installation and setup of residential home standby generator systems (Kohler and Generac). This role requires strong electrical expertise, leadership capability, and the ability to manage crews while ensuring safe, efficient, and code-compliant installations.

This position requires advanced knowledge of electrical systems, experience in panel replacements, and the ability to oversee full project execution from site assessment through final inspection.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Lead installation of Kohler and Generac home standby generators in accordance with manufacturer specifications and safety standards
  • Supervise and direct installation crews to ensure quality and efficiency
  • Perform and oversee electrical panel replacements, transfer switch installations, and system integrations
  • Conduct site assessments to determine proper installation locations and ensure compliance with local codes and regulations
  • Coordinate with project managers, inspectors, and Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJs)
  • Ensure all electrical work meets NEC and local code requirements
  • Train and mentor apprentices and junior installers
  • Perform system testing, troubleshooting, and commissioning
  • Maintain accurate documentation of installations, inspections, and work performed
  • Promote and enforce company safety standards on all job sites
RequirementsSkills and Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Minimum of 2+ years of electrical experience
  • Minimum of 2+ years of leadership or crew lead experience
  • Strong experience with electrical panel replacements and service upgrades
  • Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams, blueprints, and technical manuals
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, safety practices, and code requirements
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
  • Ability to pass a background check
  • Must meet company insurance requirements to operate company vehicles
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
  • Ability to lift up to 100 lbs. with assistance
  • Electrical certifications or licensing preferred
  • OSHA certifications are a plus
